Applications

An application panel is an Apply button, separate from tickets. Use it for staff, whitelist or clan roles that need a review before anyone gets in.

Creating a panel

From Applications → Create Panel, set a review channel (where applications are posted) and add the staff roles who review them. You can also add required or bypass roles to control who can apply. Or start from the Staff Application template instead of a blank panel.

Questions

Add the questions applicants answer. Answers can be text, a dropdown, a user, role or channel, or checkboxes. Drag to reorder. Every question needs its text filled in before the panel saves.

Roles

Staff roles decide who can review. Required and bypass roles decide who can apply, and blocked roles keep a group out. With two or more required roles, pick whether members need all of them or any one. If a member has both a bypass and a blocked role, bypass wins. Role Rules give or remove roles when an application is approved or denied.

Log channel & review requests

Every Approve or Deny can post a record to the panel's log channel. Sparrow can also DM the applicant asking for a star rating, using the server's Application review message or a custom one for that panel.

Reviewing applications

Approve, Deny, Connect with Applicant and History are buttons on the review post. You can also use the commands below. To invite someone to apply, use /create application, which DMs them an Apply button.

Each new application also gets a staff discussion thread on its review post, named after the panel and the applicant, so your team can talk it over. When it's approved, denied or withdrawn, the decision is posted in the thread. Only people who can see the review channel can see the thread, so keep that channel for staff. You can turn it off on the panel's Advanced tab. In Application History, the Staff Discussion button opens the thread next to the application.

The applicant gets a DM when their application is approved or denied. Both come with a ready-made message, and you can change them, clear them or turn them off on the panel's Messages tab, under Approved and Denied DMs. Use placeholders like {reason} for what staff wrote and {roles} for any roles the decision gave.

History & settings

Application History lists every past application. Search it or filter by panel or decision. In Application Settings you can set Application Admin Roles (they manage every panel), a limit on pending applications per member, a cooldown between applications, and the default header and footer for new panels.

Turning a panel off

Switch off the panel on its General tab to stop taking applications for a while. Sparrow asks for a message, like "Applications are closed. We're not accepting new applicants right now." Members who press Apply see it, and only they can. Leave it empty and they see "This panel is closed right now." Applications already sent can still be reviewed.
